Central Philippine University: The Secret Behind the Success and Excellence of the Centralian Alumni AFP Awardees

Central Philippine University (CPU), held its 114th Founding Anniversary with the theme "Central Spirit Leading Us Onward as One". The celebration lasted for almost a week hosting current students and highly valued alumni.

One special part of the celebration spearheaded by Central Philippine University Alumni Association Incorporated (CPUAAI), highlighted the awarding and recognition of the AFP Alumni Honorees for exemplary achievement in the field of Military Service. The Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly was held September 28th, 2019 at Rose Memorial Auditorium, CPU Campus.

The alumni have earned distinct credit thereby by bringing so much honor and pride not only to themselves and the Armed Forces of the Philippines but to their Alma Mater, Central Philippine University.

Four handsome and brave armed-in-faith men inspired us during the awarding celebration. The event was followed by a press conference where various and heart-felt questions were asked during the designated time with the media team. Everything just went so well and nice, because the respectable brave men were bubbly and full of humor.

Brigadier General Custodio Parcon, a Medal of Valor Awardee

Brigadier General Custodio Parcon, a Medal of Valor Awardee emphasized that without the teachings and discipline they got from CPU, they will not be able to do such things at work and in all aspect of their lives. He highlighted that as a full-blooded Centralian, the institution has prepared the students, especially him and his co-honorees to excell and soar high. The foundation they have grown up in CPU as a Christian institution really molded them well to be a good citizen of the Philippines. Just like anyone else, their path was extremely difficult, most especially their life as a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA). They grew in deep faith with the Lord Jesus Christ; whereas they have abandoned fear, ucerterties, doubts and worries. During their years of duty, they were not afraid of death because they knew they have secured a place in heaven. They have all agreed with one's statement that if you want to achieve peace, you must know and acknowledge the Prince of Peace, Lord Jesus Christ.

The other honorees were Major General Tyne T. Bañas, Major General Reuben S. Basiao, Major General Samuel G. Gotico, Brigadier General Stephen P. Parreño and Brigadier General Ezra James P. Enriquez.

The presscon was inspiring, full of knowledge and wisdom from the respectable men. The brave honorees were grateful for the award and recognition given by the school, and will continue to make their families and their Alma Mater proud, especially the Creator of power and excellence they have always looked-up to, Jesus.

Special thanks to Central Philippine University Alumni Association Incorporated (CPUAAI) for heading this event, and for inviting the honorees to inspire and empower so many lives.

To God be the Glory!
