One of the highlighted programs you can try is their Modular Assistance or Homework Assistance Program, which helps the students understand and finish their homework faster. The teachers guide them using different techniques and make sure that they have fun while doing it.

"They make me understand things better and easier. The teachers are fun and kind and they are very helpful to me." Maria Ezrah Elpusan, Philippine Science High School student.

About ISTEP-UP Juku

Istep-up Juku is a Philippine-based tutorial and learning center based in Iloilo City. Their branches are located in Iloilo City, Miag-ao, wo in Oton, and Zaraga. It was founded in 2019 and grew quickly from 1 to 5 branches as of this writing.

Mary Ann Morano, the founder of iSTEP-UP JUKU, said that they are using the ‘universally-used’ teaching strategies of Japan called Gakudo (after-school) strategies, the Juku (cram school) strategies, and the Kouritsu Gakkou (public school) strategies in Japan.

Morano learned and mastered these teaching strategies during her comprehensive understanding as an educator for foreign students for over 10 years, including over 5 years as a teacher in government schools in Japan.

“These strategies are very effective regardless of the intellectual capacities or smartness of the kids,” Morano affirmed.

They have a competitive and fun set of highly-trained teachers handling different school-level of students.

"We see to it that we evaluate the teachers that they are strictly following the strategies that we are using so that it will be effective to the kids,” Morano added.

“I believe that all kids have multiple intelligences that we just need to power up in them,” she emphasized.

“In this Center, we are balancing the academic performance of the children and their success in entrance exams so that they can choose the best school for them.” she cited.

Morano commenced the iSTEP-UP JUKU Review and Tutorial Center in 2019 after her journey from Japan as a teacher. As a mother, she saw the need for educational support for her children who were struggling in school, and finding a good tutor or learning center was a challenge in Miagao.
