Iloilo City Market |
The Iloilo City Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) posted a total collection of P79.1 million which is higher by P5.8 million than its P73.3 million target income, from January to November.
Mayor Jerry Treñas commended City Government employees for
the collective efforts towards effective and efficient management despite the
challenges caused by ongoing construction works on the development of all
district markets.
LEEO head Maricel Mabaquiao attributed the accomplishments to
the hard work of the market in charge and collectors in ensuring the attainment of
monthly targets for rentals, entrance of goods, and other fees.
They manage the major public markets including Central and
Terminal or Super in City Proper, Jaro Big and Small, Arevalo, La Paz, and
Mandurriao, and Slaughterhouse in Brgy. Tacas, Jaro.
The rehabilitation is being implemented to upgrade the
infrastructure and facilities to better serve the needs of the buying public
and vendors.
The modern markets are expected to create better services and
convenience for consumers, including parking space, and clean facilities, help
micro and small businesses, and promote economic and tourism potentials.
Temporary stalls have also ensured the continuity of economic
activities. (Iloilo City PIO)
